A major electrical store has shut with the loss of 13 jobs.
Currys Digital in Churchill Square, Brighton, has closed after its lease expired.
Owners DSGi said six employees have been able to find work in other parts of the group while 13 full and part-time staff have been made redundant.
A spokesman added: "Regrettably the store in Churchill Square closed as a part of our review of our high street store portfolio, and as its lease had expired.
"We have been working with the team to help them find alternative employment and a number of them have found new roles within the DSGi organisation.
"There are a number of other Currys, Currys Digital and PC World stores nearby which are very much open for business."
Currys becomes the second empty unit at Churchill Square.
Music retailer Zavvi was shut after its parent company collapsed at the end of last year.
Soozie Campbell, Brighton's city centre manager, said she believed the shopping centre remained popular and that the Currys site would soon be filled.
She said: "Churchill Square has been resilient and not really suffered in terms of footfall compared with the national average.
"The vacancy rate is lower than it has ever been."
