The Eastbourne Airshow was not a great financial success last year.
Bearing in mind the current economic situation, it does seem extraordinary that the council is apparently employing outside advisers to find sponsors for the show and is planning to have the Red Arrows display for four days.
Surely it would be wise to find sponsors through internal means and local activity.
Booking the Red Arrows for one or two days at most, would reduce costs and concentrate the public interest. Many people in the area will be watching this situation with interest.
