THE idea of boys learning to sew is certainly original (The Argus, March 8) but I feel that if it is not fine enough weather for them to be enjoying playing cricket or soccer, they could have some indoor exercises. That at least would go part way to counteract the trend to obesity which seems to have developed recently.
Any exercise after sitting still for lessons would be good for their health and physical development.
Girls too have the chance for outdoor exercise with hockey and tennis – that is if all the playing fields have not been built on.
