I was wondering if Brighton and Hove City Council’s proposed £75 fine for leaving recycling on the street on the wrong day (The Argus, April 4) works both ways? Can we fine the council if they leave our recycling out by failing to collect it? I say this because on at least two occasions over the past year, the recycling in my road has not been collected for more than six weeks. The fines add up to more than £6,300.
On the odd occasion they do pop round it is usually at least a day or two later than advertised.
Or is this another example of the increasing Big Brother-style dictatorship which is taking over Government at both local and national levels? In other words: “Do as I say, not as I do.”
