A lifeboat was called out after a yacht crew found a damaged fishing boat floating at sea.
The boat was spotted one mile south of the West Pier in Brighton and is believed to have been empty for some time.
The 17ft boat had a hole in its left side and did not have oars or an engine.
It was towed back to shore by the Brighton lifeboat crew just after 7am today.
