A driver had a lucky escape after crashing his car through trees and landing upside down in a ditch.
The man, in his 20s, was trapped inside the vehicle which was hidden by foliage.
But he was able to call 999 from his mobile phone and direct rescuers to him.
Firefighters from Storrington and Worthing cut him free from the wreckage, which they found just off on the A283 at Washington at about 4.50am today.
The driver was taken by ambulance to Worthing Hospital with minor injuries.
Watch commander Darren Wickings said the man was lucky to have been found so quickly.
He said: βHe is very lucky. There were a lot of trees there and the car was almost out of sight so it could have been quite some time until someone spotted him.β
No other vehicles are believed to have been involved in the accident.
