TOADS Hole Valley in Hove has become the most valuable piece of real estate in this city now it is not to become part of the South Downs National Park.

It is privately owned and the pressure to capitalise on this with a big building project must be immense.

For the sake of Hove residents and the city we must resist this and it now requires action by Brighton and Hove City Council to buy this parcel of land and develop it solely for leisure use.

The first step the council could do is declare that no high density of building will be allowed on this site.

Let’s not make the same mistake as with the King Alfred Leisure Centre but, instead, consult Hove residents early and extensively on the land’s use.
