Albion embarked on their first trip to the Moo Camp, the home of MK Dons. Not a lot off people agree with how this club came about but to be fair they have a nice ground with the potential to be made bigger padded seats and loads of leg room. The stadium is the same sort of think the Albion will be building and I cannot wait for that day. I doubt we will have padded seats though, maybe heated instead.
So we got the 8.49am from Brighton which was absolutely packed with us, you knew from then it would be a good day out. The sun was shining and the fans were very vocal, especially when we changed at Clapham, there were at least 200 of us all singing and drinking - it was a good laugh. We arrived at Bletchley (don't ask why we did not go to Milton Keynes, it was my fault), and went to probably the worst pub I have ever been in. It looked like it was shut, but we went in for one drink. We had Corona and asked for Lime with it - we got lemon! We then had a game of trying to get the flat ball through the tyre, this was made very difficult with grass that was six inches long! Also there were two old kids’ cars there. We sat in them and had a race in it was amusing, basically we were just being silly drunks. Next we decided that Bletchley had nothing to offer and went to the Wetherspoons in Milton Keynes, you know what to expect but it was a laugh.
Then we went off to the ground. It is impressive but I wonder what the atmosphere would be like without a decent away attendance. More than 2000 sang for all of the first half "We’re the right sided we’re the left sided Brighton boys". It must have gone on for about 15 minutes, also it was fun winding up the home fans especially the one in the Tottenham shirt, why would you go to a game wearing a shirt of another team? It was good to here such vocal support, it’s just a shame that the players could not show some passion. We were 2-0 down at half time and staring another defeat in the face.
The second half was totally different. The crowd’s mood changed and people were giving abuse to the players as they did not look like they cared. It was embarrassing to be an Albion fan. The players where then booed off the pitch - this does not usually happen at away games but it did then. It is the first time this season I have booed, we had 27% percent of the possession and that is not good enough and with players like Owusu and Davies who couldn't hit a barn door in the team we will not stay up this season. One person who did get a lot of applause was Whing, he was immense and the only player who gave everything I hope we get to keep him for next year, but I very much doubt we will stay.
So another defeat and so more beer was needed. We went back to the Wetherspoons then off to the station via the off licence. Thanks to the Brighton fan who lost his mates and gave us the cheeseburgers. On our travel home we met one of the most dedicated people ever. His name was Hristo, he was an AFC Wimbledon fan and he used to support Wimbledon when they had the "crazy gang". He had flown all the way from Bulgaria to watch this non league team, we met him at about 10pm and his flight was not until 5am, this is truly remarkable. I was knackered after a long day drinking and I was home by 11!
So next opponents are away to Hereford. On paper we should win this games but seeing the way we played Saturday I think it’s game over. We now lie eight points off safety with seven games left. With Forster and Murray out until next season I cannot see where we are going to get a goal from.
