When I read the article about the council wanting to fine people for putting out their recycling boxes on the wrong day I thought it was a belated April Fool’s Day joke.

The council should put their own house in order first.

My ordinary rubbish in the green bin has only been collected on the correct day once in a four-week period.

The first time it happened, the rubbish was collected on the following Monday, instead of Thursday.

On the other two occasions it was collected on the Friday.

Does this mean I can fine the council £225? It would certainly help towards paying my council tax bill.
