After a week midweek performance by Brighton another long away day followed, this time away to Scunthorpe with the game being played at Glanford Park.
Have you ever been to Scunny? If not do not bother, it is one of the grimmest places I have ever had the misfortune to go to. The place literally has nothing to offer, the ground is miles from the station and there are limited decent pubs, although the drinks are quite cheap though you should expect that. High flying Scunny who are in a play off place, so it was always going to be a hard game, and it was we lost 2-0 and Heath also got sent off.
So yet another bad result for the Albion, and with other results going against us (Northampton, Swindon winning and Yeovil drawing) now leaves us 6 points from safety with nine games to go. I'm afraid as said before we are going down, I cannot see us getting enough points to stay up, I predicted a win in last weeks email.
Scunthorpe 3, Tranmere 1, MK Dons 1, Hereford 3, Swindon 3, Bristol rovers 1, Colchester 1, Oldham 0, Huddersfield 3, Stockport 0, so now I got that wrong we can expect to end up on 48 points we need at least 50 to be safe.
I took my first look at what grounds I will be going to in League 2 next season, that's how bad it has been. Still, over a month left of the season and looking forward to the next one, but looking at it there are quite a few I have not been too, so it will be an expensive year for me.
Some sad news came out of from the Albion camp yesterday. Jimmy Mcnulty had his kidney removed, this was after a collision in the game against Crewe. This is sad news, he only played five games but showed good quality and skill and real promise for the future. He will be out for six months, I hope he makes a full recovery and will be playing in the blue and white stripes next season.
A massive game on Tuesday. Northampton v Swindon, the two teams directly above the relegation zone. We need this to be a draw, just so we can have a slight chance or mounting a escape plan.
Saturday sees us up against Tranmere at the Withdean, they are a good strong side looking for a play of spot. I really cannot see us getting anything, but as the Yeovil game showed anything can happen!
