There's always a lot going on in Brighton and a lot to choose from. This blog is to start discussions on a Friday about what everyone is most excited about to help you guys choose!
I am gutted that I didn't get tickets to see Lily Allen - she's on at the Dome tonight and tickets have sold out for this and all her gigs around the UK - I spotted some tickets on eBay for nearly £100 for the Brighton venue so for all the lucky people who paid £20 - keep them safe! She started the tour earlier this week and so far I have only seen positive reviews - so if you're going, we'd love to hear you gloat!
Sing-along-Brighton has caught my eye - it's also on at the Dome. The musical is described as a visitors guide to the city. If you have friends down, it is meant to be perfect for showing them the town, but I think it would be best seen with some fellow Brighton lovers as the lyrics are on the wall, so there'll be a great sense of community in the sing-along. Tickets are still available - and the musical is celebrating its 13th year - if anyone has been in the previous years let us now what you thoughts!
I am off to Komedia for the Krator Comedy Club - tonight, according to their web site we'll see Will Smith, Craig Campbell, Carey Marx, Scott Denyer - I'll let you know their 'funny ratings' next week. Afterwards is Rockability, which is 'Down & dirty rock 'n' roll rockability.' I am not sure what is meant by this?! So if anyone can explain further or have tips of where else would be fitting after (hopefully) laughing my socks of, that would be great!
On Sunday, I am hoping to find some Open Mic action (For the time being, I'll save Brighton from my voice and will only be a spectator!). Currently I am thinking of The Fiddlers Elbow but I know there is also some at the Thomas Kemp which I could be persuaded by - does anyone know who is hoping to play at either of these?
Now over to you - what are you most looking forward to this weekend?
