Leyton Orient 2-1 Brighton. Attendance: 5,885. Another defeat which leaves Albion staring down at League Two.
Brighton started the match the better and took the lead after the on-loan Heath bundled the ball home, joy to the near 2000 travelling fans. But once again we mucked it up. Heath gave away a dubious penalty after tugging a player’s shirt in the box and McGleish stepped up to score.
Brighton managed to hang on and a point would have been OK but Thornton scored a great goal with minutes to spare. So we are now in huge trouble, third bottom with 13 games left means we have a mountain to climb. I have tried to predict who many points we will get from remaining games: Southend 0, Yeovil 1, Walsall 1, Scunthorpe 3, Tranmere 1, Mk Dons 1, Hereford 3, Swindon 3, Bristol Rovers 1, Colchester 1, Oldham 0, Huddersfield 3, Stockport 0. That's 16 points which will give us 48 - not enough to stay up.
So we have a new manager until the end of the season.
Russell Slade, the former Yeovil man, has taken charge until the end of the season. His aim is to keep us up but i think he has come in to late. It is an uphill task, to say the least, but with all players fit we could have a glimmer of hope but i think we are doomed.
This season has been for me the worst on record with too many players coming and going, chopping and changing the team all the time has been a complete joke. I cannot wait until the end of this campaign as this has been awful.
Andersen 5, Whing 6, Heath 6, El Abd 7, Borrowdale 5, Fraser 2, Jarrett 4, Bangura 8 MOM, McLeod 1, Owusu 5, Davies 5, Carole 6, Livermore 5.
