About ten tears ago when John and Molly Hayes died they left £1,000 for the WRVS to provide a free lunch once a year for members of Portslade Old People's Day Club where they had during their lifetime spent many happy hours.
Some ten years on despite providing a lunch for up to about 30 people they still would you believe have the £1,000 in the kitty.
That is thanks to careful investment by the WRVS and using the interest annually to provide the meal.
Maybe we should put them into running the country.
