This was a useless performance from Brighton with not many positives to be taken from the game. Manager Micky Adams apologised for the performance. Attendance was 5333 Brighton started the better side with Murray, Anyinsah and Fleetwood all coming close. On 31 minutes, against the run of play, Carlisle scored with a shot from outside the box that was parried by Kuipers into the path of Bridge-Wilkinson who slotted home.
Carlisle then dominated the game and could have been four up by half time. The pressure told in the 1st minute of first half injury time when a cross was tapped in by Taylor to make it 2-0 at the break, with Albion looking like they had no way of getting back into the match.
The second half began with Carlisle still dominating. A one-two in the box allowed Bridge Wilkinson to smash the ball home and make it 3-0. Albion did grab a consolation goal with Richards blasting in a shot from outside the area, but all in all this was a poor performance and one that sees Albion’s unbeaten run come to an end.
So, away to Hartlepool on Tuesday for the FA cup replay, a tough trip, and to be honest I cannot see us getting through to the next round of the cup, I think they will win 1-0.
