A disappointing display by Albion this weekend but were lucky to get away with a point after a very impressive display by the Os.
The first half was poor from Albion especially after such a great display against Southend on Friday night. Livermore, who was good in the second half against Southend, was particularly poor today.
Orient were organised in defence (very strong central defenders) and midfield was good at passing around - the only problem was they lacked the finishing touch upfront. Albion on the other hand were very strong at the back but the midfield was unorganised and unimaginative. There were chances from both sides but not a great deal.
The second half saw the inevitable introduction off Mcleod for Livermore and Robinson for Cox. This nearly paid off straight away when Mcleod hammered the ball goal-bound only for the keeper to save.
Albion did look more impressive in the second half with Murray narrowly missing a ball across the goal mouth, Forster hitting the ball at the keeper after some clever work from Murray and Virgo heading at the back post only for the defender to clear off the line.
Orient were still the better and more organised side and in the second half should have scored at least three. And they would have if it wasn't for Kuipers heroics and the defenders throwing themselves in front of everything. Orient played well to keep the ball out and we walked away thinking how did we get away with that.
All in all a disappointing home performance not helped by idiots booing at Fulltime. Why? We are fourth in the table undefeated, OK we didn't play well but did they really deserve that? No! people’s expectations have risen too high and they expect us to win 4-0 every game. Well, this is League 1 and we are not Man U or Chelsea. There are going to be scrappy games I'm afraid you have to expect it at this level.
I hope for a better performance against Northampton in the LDV on Wednesday but I expect and hope that a few fringe players get a go, Lynch etc, just for them to stake a claim.
Next Saturday Albion play Scunthorpe. The team change should be to start with Mcleod and drop Livermore.
