A woman has been fined for having such a noisy sex life it kept her neighbours awake at night.

Kerry Norris could be heard having sex and shouting out so loudly that her worn-out neighbours forced council bosses to take her to court.

The 29-year-old made so much noise some residents could get so little sleep they could not work while others had to move away just for a nap.

Today the mother-of-one was ordered to keep the noise down and fined for breaking a previous court order banning her from making a racket.

Brighton Magistrates' Court was told the sound of Norris' headboard repeatedly banging against the wall of her flat in Bramble Way, Hollingbury, stopped her neighbours sleeping.

Locals also said they were disturbed by loud music, shouting and swearing throughout the day and night and vacuuming in the early hours of the morning.

Brighton and Hove City Council took action after receiving complaints for two years about her behaviour in the three-storey block of flats.

Unemployed Norris, who has lived at the flats for 13 years, denied she was a noisy neighbour and said other people in the flats had often disturbed her.

Magistrates found her guilty of breaching a noise abatement order, fined her £200 and ordered her to pay £100 costs.
