Mourners wore blue and white yesterday to pay their last respects to popular actor Hugh Lloyd.

The colour co-ordination was to mark the star of stage and screen’s passion for Chester City Football Club.

The ceremony was held at Worthing Crematorium in Findon.

Mr Lloyd, 85, died at his home in Worthing on July 14 after suffering shortness of breath.

He was best known for his role in the 60s sitcom Hugh and I alongside Terry Scott and he starred in shows such as Hancock’s Half Hour and You Rang M’Lord?

His most recent TV outing was in the series Doc Martin.
