Every time I drive along the A259 through Telscombe I am outraged to see the abundance of ragwort flourishing unchecked along the roadside, particularly on the Tye.
The uninformed may think this is a pretty yellow flower but it most definitely is not. Ragwort is a highly toxic plant which more lowly landowners would be in breach of the law for allowing to grow. Fines would be levied for non-compliance.
Ragwort is fatal to horses and is particularly dangerous when cut, left to dry and fed as hay, when it becomes undetectable.
