A crocheting group has installed four nutcrackers to bring joy to a village for Christmas.

East Preston Yarnbombers are well known for their impressive displays that wow residents and visitors alike, most recently garnering attention for their display of 11,000 poppies cascading down the side of St Mary the Virgin Church.

Now, the group has put together a charming group of four nutcrackers, made up of a mixture of knitting and crochet, for residents and visitors to enjoy over the festive season.

The creations, located at Two Acres in East Preston, near Littlehampton, feature an array of bright colours and are made of recycled wool from previous projects, including last year’s Christmas display.

Eva said: “We wanted a bit of colour in our lives.

“We like to bring a smile to people’s faces. We like to give people somewhere to go for a walk.

“Something to talk about. A shared experience in the community.

“We find that the schools also go to look at them.

“The one goal is to make people smile.”

The installation is available to view until January 5, weather permitting.
