Two restaurants forced to close due to pier damage have shared their joy at the news that they can finally reopen.
Perch on the Pier and Tern were left devastated by the news that they would have to close from October 20 after a storm damaged the underside of Worthing Pier, leaving it unsafe.
The businesses have since been left in a challenging position due to the prolonged closure, which has lasted over a month, forcing Perch to put staff on furlough and “reduce the size of the team”.
However, after the announcement that Worthing Pier would be reopening today (4 December) the much-loved restaurants have now shared the good news that they can reopen later this week following the completion of pier repairs.

Perch on the Pier plans to open its doors to diners on Thursday, December 5, while Tern hopes to be back in service from Saturday, December 7.
In a statement shared on Facebook, Perch said: “We’re completely delighted to finally know we’re going to be back and we truly can’t wait to see you all very soon.”
Tern wrote: “It feels like it’s been a long time, and we have missed you.
“We can’t wait to settle back in and welcome you back to our beautiful restaurant.
“Book now, and celebrate our return with us, just in time for Christmas."
