A city centre desert shop has closed after just months in business.
The Urban Chocolatier opened in a prominent location in Brighton’s Western Road in August, offering desserts and sweet treats in the shop and through delivery services.
But the shop has now closed its doors after its landlord took back the lease on the property.
Online, The Urban Chocolatier is listed as “temporarily closed” but the franchise’s website has removed any mention of the location.
However, a notice posted in the shop’s window said Moreton’s Investments had enforced a notice on the business.
The notice, dated November 26, read: “no one can lawfully enter the premises unless they have been given authorisation by the landlord.
“Any attempt to enter the premises without the landlord’s authority may be a criminal offence and result in a prosecution.”
Urban Chocolatier opened on August 31, less than three months ago, offering desserts including profiteroles, tiramisu and baklava.
The Western Road store was historically a bank but was changed in October 2019 when a planning application changed its use from “financial service” to a restaurant.
