The city’s museums are hosting a jampacked schedule of festive events for the Christmas period.
Brighton Chamber Choir and Brighton Consort will perform Christmas carols in the Music Room of the Royal Pavilion in Brighton on December 11. In the interval, listeners will be invited to enjoy a glass of wine and a mince pie in the Banqueting Room.
From November 30 to December 31, Preston Manor and Gardens is hosting a “Mince Spy Mystery” which is described as a “brain teasing, light-hearted Whodunnit”.
One rogue elf has smashed open Mrs Claus’ treasured biscuit tin and ran off with all the mince pies. Visitors are required to investigate and uncover what happened and restore “justice and pastry”.
A wreath making workshop will be held on November 30 and a garland making worship on December 1, both at Brighton Museum. Those attending will be guided through the process of creating a seasonal wreath or garland using greenery sourced from the Royal Pavilion Gardens.
Finally, The Royal Pavilion will host Christmas banquets on December 12, 13 and 14. A drinks and drinks and canapé reception in the palace’s historic Great Kitchen will be followed by a musical interlude in the Music Room, before taking seats for a three course dinner with wine in the Banqueting Room.
