With the weather turning colder and the festive season getting underway, one thing people can enjoy during this period is time spent on an ice rink.

A few pop up around Sussex in the build-up to Christmas as well as the period around the New Year.

Here are the three major ice rinks people can visit in the county around the festive season.

Sussex ice rinks you can visit around Christmas 2024

Brighton's Royal Pavilion Ice Rink

Brighton's Royal Pavilion has already had its ice rink open for a month and will remain so until January 5, 2025.

The ice rink is known for its "beautiful setting" and is still the UK’s only Christmas ice rink powered exclusively by renewable energy, according to the Brighton Museums website.

The main rink offers plenty of space for more confident skaters whilst a separate beginners’ rink provides a safe area for younger skaters to build confidence.

It adds: "Tickets cost from £11 for full-price tickets (aged 12 and over), £9 for juniors (under 12) and the 45-minute skate times run from 10am to 10pm daily.

"The box office is open from 9.30am and visitors are strongly advised to book tickets in advance to be sure of their skating slot."

Tickets can be booked on the website here.
