An aristocratic celebrity and a reality TV star were in attendance at a Christmas “Light Up a Life” event.
Lady Colin Campbell, who appeared on I’m a Celebrity… Get Me out of Here! and lives in Castle Goring in Worthing, braved the wind and rain to host the Light Up a Life event at Canine Designs in East Preston.
Lady C, as she is often known, is a dog lover and allows couples who get married at Castle Goring to have their pets accompany them at their nuptials. Last year she launched a couture range of wedding attire and harnesses for dogs called Little Lords and Ladies.
Carol singers, warming drinks and mince pies helped to spread festive cheer at the evening, which was designed to raise funds for Dogs Trust, Shoreham and remember the loss of loved ones – human and canine.
Owner of the dog grooming salon Jackie Godfrey was inspired to hold the event, on Saturday, November 23, after her dog Cyd died. She said: “There are so many people like me without family who have lost a beloved pet, so I thought about doing this Light Up a Life Christmas tree for the Dogs Trust in Shoreham.”
Brighton and co-owns hair salon Lustig & Webb in Hurstpierpoint, was joined by his mum Pat on the Channel 4 show for two series.
Stephen Webb, who was a popular star on Gogglebox for a decade, put a golden heart on the tree for his mum Pat who died earlier this year. Stephen, who lives inJackie said: “It’s a very lonely time at Christmas. My mum passed away at Christmas and now it’s just me and my mum’s dog daisy, so I hope we raised some money for some lovely memories to be made at Shoreham dog trust.”
