A garden has been forced to cancel planned weekend Christmas light switch on due to Storm Bert.
Leonardslee Gardens near Horsham announced that they made the decision to close earlier than usual due to “high winds”.
The statement which the garden shared on social media said: “We have made the decision to close the gardens from 1pm today and cancel Leonardslee Lights for Saturday 23 November and Sunday 24 November due to the forecast of high winds.
“We will be in touch with any ticket holders on what to do next via email.
“We apologise for any inconvenience and thank you in advance for your patience and cooperation.
“Leonardslee Gardens will reopen as normal at 9am on Monday.”
This comes after a yellow weather warning for wind was issued for most of East and West Sussex from 3pm yesterday due to “dangerous coastal conditions and disruption” with a “small chance” that the weather could cause a danger to life and injuries.
A number of events have been cancelled this weekend due to the bad weather, including Christmas light switch ons in Chichester and Littlehampton.
