A road remains closed following a serious crash.

The B2028 in Lindfield was closed this morning following a crash at around 6.35am. 

The closure was put in place from Stonecross Lane to Francis Road in both directions. 

Sussex Police and West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service were in attendance. 

A spokesman for Sussex Police said: "We are responding to a collision on Ardingly Road, Lindfield, which was reported at 6.35am this morning (November 22).

"Stonecross Lane and Park Lane has been closed in both directions as emergency services attend the scene.

"Anyone with information about the collision is asked to report it to Sussex Police online or by email to collision.appeal@sussex.police.uk quoting Operation Mayford."

At the time of the incident, a spokesman for the fire service said: "Ardingly Road near Lindfield, West Sussex,  is currently closed following a road traffic collision.

"One fire engine is currently in attendance.

"Please avoid the area to allow firefighters to work safely."
