The attempted abduction of a two-year-old boy is currently under investigation.
Police received a report of concern for the welfare of the boy outside Morrisons in Hawthorn Road, Littlehampton, yesterday, November 20, at around 9am.
The boy is safe and well with his family.
Sussex Police have increased their patrols in the area and are conducting enquiries.
The Argus understands the incident was reported as an attempted abduction of a child, while the circumstances are still under investigation.

An anonymous Facebook post said the incident involved a woman taking the boy’s hand and trying to walk off with him. The police did not confirm the specific details.
Chief Inspector Will Keating-Jones said: “We would also like to remind the public to stay vigilant over the Christmas period, as high streets and shopping areas across the county get busier.
