A cyclist was seriously injured in a crash involving two cars.

Sussex Police confirmed the cyclist had been taken to hospital having been injured in the crash in Lottbridge Drove on Tuesday morning.

Air ambulance crews also attended the scene, which closed the road for over an hour.

The cyclist’s injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

A spokesman for Sussex Police said: “We can confirm that Lottbridge Drove, Eastbourne northbound has reopened following a collision involving two cars and a cyclist at around 10am this morning.

“The male cyclist has been taken to hospital with serious, but not life-threatening, injuries.

“Officers would like to thank the public for their patience while emergency services attended.

“An investigation into the circumstances of the collision is underway.

“Anyone who witnessed the collision or captured any relevant footage is asked to email collision.appeal@sussex.police.uk quoting serial 329 of 18/11.”

The Argus understands that, while air ambulance crews attended the scene, the cyclist was taken to hospital by land.
