A major retailer had to evacuate its building in a busy city centre.
Marks and Spencer in Western Road in Brighton had to completely evacuate the building at around noon on Thursday.
Eyewitnesses have said that there was roughly a hundred people outside the store at lunch-time following a fire alarm.
But the fire service said there was no reported fire or injuries so it is believed to have been a false alarm.
