A seaside water sports shop in a swimming pool and shopping complex has announced it will be closing its doors.
Paddle People at Brighton’s Sea Lanes development announced that it would be closing its doors after two years trading since the complex opened in 2022.
The shop is one of the first to close in the Sea Lanes development in Madeira Drive since it opened as the National Open Water Swimming Centre, bringing together a number of cafes, bars, and other vendors.
In a note to customers, Paddle People announced they would be “very sadly closing”.
The shop thanked customers for “all your support for the past two years”, adding: “we will miss getting you out on the water.”
Paddle People in Sea Lanes sold water sports equipment as well as offering rental paddleboards and kayaks for those wanting to take a dip off Brighton beach.
The business was one of several swimming shops, health and wellbeing services and food and drink venues based in the swimming centre.
