A pub chain is hoping to raise more than £70,000 for young people suffering with mental health issues.

Hall and Woodhouse, the brand behind The World’s End in Patching and The Gardeners Arms in Sompting, will donate half of its pub sales on Tuesday, November 12, to charities across the county.

It expects to raise around £70,000 from the move.

As part of the effort, The Black Swan in Crawley will also be holding a pub quiz in aid of St Catherine’s hospice.

Some of the funds will also go to YoungMinds, a charity providing mental health support to young people.

Anthony Woodhouse, chairman of Hall and Woodhouse, said: “This year marks our third annual charity day.

“Our purpose at Hall and Woodhouse is to make people’s day and enrich our communities, whether it's through a fabulous guest experience at our pubs, or our involvement with local fundraising.

“Throughout the year, all of our teams participate in various initiatives to raise money for worthy causes. Our charity day allows us to contribute even more to the vital projects that make such a difference in our communities.”
