There have been services across the county to mark Remembrance Day.
A crowd gathered at Brighton’s Old Steine war memorial this morning before 11am to honour those who gave their lives for the country.
Tribute was paid to “those from our own city, those from beyond, from the commonwealth, from many nations, of many cultures and faith traditions, who made the supreme sacrifice in the time of war”.
The Mayor of Brighton and Hove, Councillor Mohammed Asaduzzaman, spoke at the service and laid a wreath at the memorial.
He read a poignant excerpt from Robert Laurence Binyon’s poem, For The Fallen, before the Last Post was played to mark the beginning of the two-minute silence.

Those taking part in the service then proceeded to the marble obelisk where there was another prayer before the mayor laid two more wreaths.
A Remembrance Day service was also held in Worthing, attended by the town’s mayor Councillor Ibsha Choudhury.
Other events were held in Hove, Rottingdean and Shoreham, among others.
