Firefighters have been called to a pond because fish are struggling to breath.
Far from their usual callouts, East Sussex Fire and Rescue crews have been helping to pump oxygen into a pond on Sunday afternoon.
The fish in Langney Pond near Eastbourne were struggling to breath.
A spokesman for the fire service confirmed they had been called to the pond on Sunday afternoon and had been tasked with pumping water into the pond in a bid to feed more oxygen into it.
One pump had been sent to the scene, the service confirmed.
Aerial photographs showfire crews using hoses to pump water into the pond from one side of the water.
The incident had been caused by an oxygen crash – where long sunny spells followed by downpours can cause oxygen levels in the water to plummet, putting the lives of fish at risk.
