Hove is the happiest place to live in Brighton and Hove, a new survey has found.
A new survey ranking neighbourhoods on its green spaces, pubs and restaurants found the area to be the happiest in the city.
Hove topped the list ahead of Preston Park, in second place, and Kemp Town in third.
The survey was compiled by polling over 5,000 people – with Hove also ranking among the happiest places in the country.
A spokesman for survey conductor FurnitureBox found that Hove ranked highly due to its “high quality of life and vibrant community spirit".
The area was also applauded for its “well-maintained park, events throughout the year, and a diverse range of restaurants and cafes.”
The survey also took into account each area’s school performances, with Brighton and Hove Sixth Form College rated as outstanding by Ofsted alongside Downs Infant School.
Hove ranked 46th in the top 70 happiest places to live in the country.
Other places in Sussex on the list were Rye, in 36th, and Findon, in 39th, as well as 70th placed Lewes.
Rye was ranked as the second happiest place to live in the South East, behind Folkestone in Kent.
