An A-road has reopened following a serious crash. 

The A259 Marsh Road near Pevensey was closed yesterday, November 7, at around 11.26am. 

Two vehicles were involved in the incident. The emergency services reported rescuing passengers before three were transferred into the care of the ambulance service. 

A spokesman for Sussex Police said: "We are currently responding to a serious two-vehicle collision on the A259 at Hooe.

"The road has been closed in both directions between Pevensey Roundabout and Little Common Roundabout as emergency services work at the scene, and is likely to remain closed until at least the early evening.

"We would advise motorists to seek alternative routes in the meantime. Thank you for your understanding.

A spokesman for East Sussex Fire and Rescue said: "Crews are currently working to extricate casualties from the two vehicles involved.

"Police and ambulance are also in attendance.

"Please avoid the area."
