A roller rink has closed its doors for the last time, although it will temporarily become an ice rink.
The Rec Rink in Horsham has welcomed skaters since 2022, offering discos, lessons and general skating for all.
However, in October the venue announced it would be closing down.
In a post on Facebook, it said: “It is with a heavy heart that we must tell you that we have our final open date for the roller rink, Saturday, November 2.
“It goes without saying that we are desperately sad that the roller rink is losing its home and we will no longer be able to provide you with this unique space that so many have come to love like a second home.
“So thank you. To each and everyone of you who have supported us, whether you have been coming since day one of the rink opening or if you only found us last week.

“You really have made it the friendly, fun and brilliant space that it is."
Many reacted with sadness to the news, giving their thanks to the staff at the rink.
One commenter wrote: “Absolutely gutted. My children and us as adults love the Rec. Staff have always been amazing to us and gone above and beyond.
“The Rec brought a lot of customers in and relit the love of skating for lots of adults I know and enabled them to relive their childhood with their children. It will be missed.”

The good news is that the venue will be reopening as an ice rink for the festive season from November 15 till January 5, which The Rec Rink says will be the only ice rink in Horsham.
Owner of The Rec Rink Rebecca McDowell said that Horsham District Council, which owns the building, has found a new tenant for it, meaning the roller rink must find a new home.
Ms McDowell said: "We would love to open in another premises but finding the right location is tricky. We will definitely be operating a seasonal ice rink each year."
She said she understood the new permanent tenant was a ten pin bowling alley. Horsham District Council has been asked for comment.
