A 64-year-old woman was seriously injured in an attack by a young woman in broad daylight.
She was taken to hospital after she was assaulted by a woman in her twenties at around midday on August 26.
She has since been discharged.
Sussex Police are now appealing for witnesses to the incident in Belmont Street, Bognor, and have released a description of the alleged attacker.
A force spokesman said: "The suspect is described as small with dark hair and was wearing a black T-shirt and black leggings
"Witnesses or anyone with any information or footage is asked to contact police online or call 101 quoting serial 524 of 26/08."
