A man has been arrested on suspicion of sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl in a leisure park.
Police were called to Maltravers Leisure Park in Littlehampton on Friday evening after the teenage girl was reportedly assaulted near a path.
A 21-year-old man has now been arrested and police are seeking four people who they believe saw the man and girl together and checked on the victim’s welfare.
A spokesman for Sussex Police confirmed the man, from Littlehampton, had been arrested on suspicion of sexual assault and remains in custody.
The force added: “Police are appealing for a man and a woman who may have seen the suspect and victim together, and two teenage girls who may have checked the victim’s welfare, to make contact with police.
“Anyone with information is asked to report it online or call 101, quoting crime reference 47240208787.”
Officers cordoned off the path near the leisure centre on Saturday afternoon while they investigated.
