A man has been charged with murder.
The body of Wayne Woodgate was discovered in woodland in Peasmarsh, near Rye, on Wednesday.
The 54-year-old, from Tunbridge Wells, had been reported missing on Thursday, October 17, when he was last seen in the Goods Station Road area of the town.
An investigation into his disappearance led to the recovery of his body this week.
There was a large number of emergency vehicles at the site near Rye and the area was cordoned off. A forensics team was also at the scene as part of the investigation.
At the time, formal identification had yet to take place, but Mr Woodgate's family was informed, Kent Police said.
Stephen Castle, of Hastings Road, Matfield, Kent, was arrested on Tuesday, Kent Police said.
Yesterday evening, the 59-year-old was charged with murder and remanded in custody.
He appeared before Sevenoaks Magistrates’ Court today.
