A long-awaited documentary charting Albion’s rise to the Premier League is set to be shown at the Amex.
Stand or Fall: The Remarkable Rise of Brighton and Hove Albion will be shown to audiences in the stadium for the first time after premiering last year.
A lounge in the stadium will be transformed into a 400-seat cinema and fans will be able to relive the past 25 years of Albion’s history with exclusive interviews and archive footage.
Documentary producer Matt Lorenzo said: “The 25 years between very nearly becoming extinct to smashing Manchester United 4-0 was remarkable, and such a great story. It's got everything.
“The film has two halves. It was this fight away from the brink and people like Dick Knight and the way the supporters were galvanized behind him. That was terrific just as a story and then in comes this genius called Tony Bloom who has transformed this club, not only with his money but with his intellect.
“Lots of people have tried to emulate the Brighton success story and none of them have done it, possibly because they haven't started early enough, almost certainly because they haven't got Tony.
“It’s this identity as supporters that is just brilliantly exemplified by Brighton and their fans. It’s quite an emotional story but there’s light and shade and because it’s football and because people are so invested in their football club you get all sorts of emotion.”
Albion will transform the Mayo Wynn Baxter Lounge in the Amex into a cinema for seven screenings from November 14 to 17.
The documentary, which was first screened at the Duke of York Picturehouse in Brighton last December, charts the years following Brighton leaving the Goldstone Ground to their first season of European football in 2023.
Screenings on November 16 and 17 will take place either side of Albion facing West Ham in the Women’s Super League and England’s Nations League game against Ireland.
Tickets are £15 for adults and £12 for under 18s and over 65s and are on sale from today.
