A man has been charged with the attempted robbery of a post office.
On Thursday, October 17, Berwick, near Polegate, was shut down during a reported robbery of its post office.
James Hill, 52, was arrested and has now been charged with attempted robbery.
During the incident, the main road through the village was closed. Police presence was stepped up in the area the following morning.

At the time, Detective Inspector Steve Shimmons said: “I would like to thank the community for their patience and understanding, particularly during the initial phases of the incident.”
Hill, of Sutton Drove, Seaford, has been remanded in prison and is due to appear before Brighton Magistrates’ Court today.
A spokesman for Sussex Police said: “Witnesses or anyone with any information or footage is asked to contact police online or call 101 quoting serial 791 of 17/10.”
