A teenager has been charged following an outbreak of disorder in a town centre.
Officers were called to a report of a fight among a group of young people outside the Guildbourne Shopping Centre in Worthing at 6.38pm on Monday, October 14.
A 15-year-old boy from Surrey was arrested and later charged with actual bodily harm, battery and possession of a weapon.
He has been bailed with strict conditions and is due to appear before Crawley Youth Court on November 14.
A 14-year-old boy was also arrested in connection with the incident has been released, with no further action.
A Section 60 Dispersal Order was put in place in Worthing town centre following the incident, covering the area west of Madeira Avenue, east of Gratwick Road and south of Teville Road.
It was lifted at 11pm.
A Sussex Police spokesman said: “Police continue to investigate the incident and are appealing for more information to assist with their enquiries.
“Witnesses or anyone with any information or footage is asked to contact police online or call 101 quoting serial 985 of 14/10.”
