A 1980s inspired musical about the ban of the promotion of homosexuality in schools will be performed in Brighton.
After the Act, written by Ellice Stevens and Billy Barrett, comes to the Brighton Dome on November 8 and 9.
The ban of the promotion of homosexuality in schools was brought in through Section 28 by the then Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher.
It was part of a series of laws banning local authorities from ‘promoting’ homosexuality across the UK, which was in effect from 1988-2003.
Tickets can be booked from £15 by visiting: https://brightondome.org/whats-on/VxY-breach-theatre-after-the-act/
The law inspired a generation of teachers, students and activists to stand up against oppression – After the Act tells their story.

The Telegraph described the show as “empowering and gut-wrenching... full of righteous anger and euphoric 80s synths”.
The show will be British Sign Language interpreted on November 8.
