A 19th-century church is up for sale for £1,000,000.
Clermont Church, located in Cumberland Road in Brighton, has been listed by estate agents Aston Vaughan for offers in excess of £1,000,000.
Built between 1877 and 1888 by local architect J. G. Gibbins, the Gothic-style church has been out of regular use since 2006.
The church was part of the United Reformed Church, a Protestant denomination with roots in Presbyterianism.
There is planning permission in place for conversion to offices and previous planning permission - now lapsed - for conversion into six apartments.
The proposed flats would have an approximate gross internal floor area of 5,920 ft² / 550 m².The advert reads: “This property offers a rare and intriguing opportunity to acquire a church building with immense potential for conversion. Whether you’re considering transforming it into modern offices, stylish apartments, or another innovative use, this church provides a unique foundation for your vision, subject to necessary consents.
“With its architectural charm and spacious interior, the building is ripe for redevelopment, offering a distinctive blend of history and possibility.”
