A man was stabbed in the chest in a quiet residential street.
Police were called to Windsor Road in Bexhill yesterday afternoon where they found the 35-year-old who has sustained knife injuries to his chest.
A spokeswoman for Sussex Police today said: "He remains in a serious condition, in the care of the ambulance service.
"A woman, aged 23 and from Bexhill, has been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm and taken to custody."

Windsor Road was temporarily closed after officers were called at 3pm so they could make enquiries at the scene.
"Anyone with information can report to police online, or by calling 101 quoting reference 666 of 14/10," the spokeswoman added.
