A thunderstorm warning has been issued for part of the county with potential for lightning, hail and gusty winds.
Brighton, Eastbourne and Haywards Heath are all included in the Met Office's yellow warning, which is in place from 4pm yesterday until 11.59pm today.
Forecasters said some places will miss the worst, but heavy showers and thunderstorms may cause some disruption, particularly to travel, later on Monday.

A spokesman for the national weather service said: "There is a good chance driving conditions will be affected by spray, standing water and/or hail, leading to longer journey times by car and bus."
Flooding and the short term loss of power is also possible.
Forecasters also warned there could be some damage to a few buildings and structures from lightning strikes, hail or gusty winds, this most likely close to the coast.
