Police officers manned a cordon in a town centre park after reports of a stabbing.
Parts of Horsham Park remained taped off this evening after an incident earlier in the day.
Officer combed the park for evidence following reports on social media of a park this evening.
It comes after a school reported a group of people "disguised with face masks or balaclavas and carrying a knife" in the park in recent days.
Collyer School in Horsham said pupils were "stopped, threatened and in more than one case had their phone stolen" in a letter to parents.
The nature of this evening's incident is as yet unconfirmed.
Sussex Police have been approached for comment.
