A man was taken to hospital after being hit by a car on the A259.
The 62-year-old pedestrian was injured in the rush-hour crash in Flansham near Bognor on Thursday afternoon.
The air ambulance attended the scene and Sussex Police closed the road. for investigation work.
A grey Honda was seen within the police cordon with a smashed windscreen on the driver side.
A spokesman for the force said: “Police attended a collision involving a car and a pedestrian in Flansham Lane, Bognor, just before 5pm on October 3.
“The pedestrian, a 62-year-old man, was taken to hospital. Police are not appealing for further information at this time.”
