A man will appear in court accused of sexually assaulting a woman on a plane while she slept.

Momade Jussab has been charged with sexual assault after allegedly touching a woman in her 20s while she slept on a long-haul flight from Qatar to Gatwick Airport.

Jussab, 65, was arrested when the flight landed in the early hours of September 28.

A spokesman for Sussex Police said they were called to Gatwick Airport shortly before 5am and arrested Jussab, from Feltham in London, as he arrived.

Jussab appeared at Crawley Magistrates Court on Monday and was remanded in custody to appear before Lewes Crown Court on October 28.

Sussex Police detective inspector Darren Taylor said: “This incident must have been extremely traumatic for the victim and she is being supported by specialist officers.

“Our team worked hard to secure a charge and remand for this sexual assault, which shows our zero tolerance and robust stance on sexual violence.”
