Sussex photographers capture change across the county

But "change" came quickly with temperatures dropping and bouts of heavy rain making it feel very autumnal.

Our camera club snappers did not let this deter them, though, and still managed to produce a range of interesting and colourful photographs in spite of the weather.

Louise Yates captured a glorious orange sunset in Brighton earlier in the month with the magnificent detail of the hardy West Pier and seagulls circling it in silhouette. 

We loved Philip Carter's shot of roe deer in a field in Rudgwick, near Horsham. The buck was making its way across the ploughed field with orange, yellow and green leaves in the background, capturing the theme of "change".

A roe buck in a field in Rudgwick (Image: Philip Carter/The Argus Camera Club) Gabor Lenkey went to Wakehurst, near Haywards Heath, and photographed ferns dying back, the brown giving way to purple flowers.

In a similar vein, Sophie Jasmin Mitchell snapped vibrant green leaves turning red. We loved the detail of this shot with rain droplets visible on the shiny leaves.

But it was Tristan Honhold's beautifully framed snap of Preston Park that takes the prize. The picture, with St Mary's Roman Catholic church in the background, showed the changing seasons against the things that stay the same. Tristan wins £50.
